Modern Family has done it again.
The ABC series took home two more awards to put on their crowded mantle (and yes, there is a Modern Family episode that covers awards and crowded mantles), winning the Writer’s Guild awards for Best Comedy Series, and Best Episodic Comedy.
The episode that won the latter category was Season 2, Episode 13: “Caught In the Act,” which was written by co-creators Steven Levitan and Jeffrey Richman. This is the same episode that won the 2011 Emmy Award for Outstanding Writing for a Comedy Series, so we already know how much the industry adores it.
To refresh your memories, it's the one where all three Dunphy kids accidentally walk in on Claire (Julie Bowen) and Phil (Ty Burrell) having sex.
To capitalize on this episode’s obvious success, maybe there should be a sequel where Stella the Dog accidentally sees Jay (Ed O’Neill) and Gloria (Sofia Vergara) in the act. Naturally, Jay would be terribly worried about the emotional trauma for Stella, and hilarity would ensue.
We hope the genius MF writers are listening!
Catch an all-new Modern Family on Wednesday, February 22 at 9pm ET/PT on ABC.
